Desert Rose Gypsum - Mineral Specimen
The Desert Rose Crystal (also known as Selenite Rose, Gypsum Rose, Sand Rose and Rose Rock) is the name given to the rose-shaped like crystal cluster formations of gypsum and baryte, which are also composed of a large volume of sand grains. The crystals form a circular formation of flat sheets, giving the rock a shape somewhat similar to a blossoming rose.
This specimen is from Morocco.
