Curious about the Superb Fairy Wren (Pardalotus punctatus)?

One of the smallest of all Australian birds at 8 to 10 centimetres in length, it is so colourful, it's sometimes known as the diamondbird.

The adult male has grey-brown upper plumage peppered with buff spots. It has a black crown, wings and tail all with white spots, white eyebrows and distinctive reddish rump. The female is similarly patterned, and is more neutral in colour overall

Common in all of the reasonably fertile parts of the east coast, the south-east, and the south-west corner of Australia.
