Atacamite - Mineral Specimen
Atacamite from Mount Gunson, South Australia. Atacamite is a secondary coper mineral formed through the oxidation of other copper minerals, mostly in saline and arid environments. Atacamite gets it’s name from South America’s Atacama Desert – one of the driest places on earth – where it is found in abundance.
