Trilobite - Fossilised Specimen
The group Trilobita existed from the early Cambrian period until the end of the Permian period (250 million years ago). The group is the most species-rich entirely extinct anthropod group.
This example of a well preserved, individual specimen sits on an ancient rock and is dated to the Middle Cambrian period (approx 535 million years ago), and was excavated in the modern day Morocco.
