Luwa Tara Luwa Waypa
Luwa tara luwa waypa by Dave mangenner Gough, illustrated by Samantha Campbell
The story of niyakara, a young Palawa man on the cusp of adulthood. Leaving the village to hunt kangaroo, his mind is on the chief's daugher, tumiana, who he is looking forward to seeing as she collects shells and works with the women at the water. His courage is drawn to the fore when he hears the boom boom boom of three strangers.
Dave mangenner Gough's words and Samantha Campbell's artwork bring to life the ancestral spirit and strength of the palawa people of Tasmania.
