An exceptional collection of three fossilized shark teeth, in a white acrylic box, sourced from the Batesford Limestone quarry in Batesford, Victoria, Australia.
Featuring two Isurus hastilis and one Isurus desori specimens dating back to the early Miocene
Isurus means 'equal tail'. The 2 closest living relatives are the short fin and long finmackerel sharks.
The early Miocene epoch occurred approximately 23 to 16 million years ago.
These rare specimens offer a glimpse into prehistoric marine life and the changing geological conditions of Australia since prehistory.
Size: each tooth is approximately 20-25mm and 12-15mm width
