A delicious array of Australian Native bush spices from celebrated First Nations food company, Mabu Mabu.

Founder and CEO of Mabu Mabu, Nornie Bero, originally from the Komet Tribe of the Meriam people in the Torres Strait, has been a professional chef for over 25 years.

She established Mabu Mabu in 2018 with a dream to make native ingredients the hero of the Australian kitchen and started by selling a range of homemade condiments and spices at South Melbourne Markets. Since then, Mabu Mabu has grown into a retail, catering and dining company with more than 80 employees.

Choose your spice:

  • Saltbush - a rich umami flavour, great in soups, sauces and curries (20g)
  • Cinnamon Myrtle - perfect in sweet bakes or with your morning yoghurt (15g).
  • Wattleseed - a rich and earthy flavour, goes well in stews, curries, dahl or your morning coffee or evening hot chocolate (40g).
  • Lemon Myrtle - can be used as a substitute for lemongrass or preserved lemon in curries and tagines (20g).
  • Strawberry Gum - use it as a flavouring in cakes, biscuits or panna cotta (20g).
  • Rice Spice - sprinkle on plain rice or use it to create a fragrant curry (35g).
  • Pepperberries - a powerful substitute for pepper, best used in moderation on meat and roast vegetables (20g).
  • Lemon Aspen Salt - an amazingly versatile salt that can be added to fish, roast vegetables, or cooked meats (45g).
