Shattuckite - Mineral Specimen

$480.00

Shattuckite is named after it's discovery locality at the Shattuck mine in Bisbee, Arizona in the United Stated. Since that discovery, it has been located in North America, South America, Africa and Europe. This specimen is from Namibia. Shattuckite contains silicate chains similar to pyroxene in a complex association with copper atoms, while the closely related planchéite contains silicate chains similar to amphibole.
