Deadly Science - Life Cycles

All organisms on Earth undergo a series of developmental stages, known as life cycles, encompassing fertilization, birth, life, and death. Within this book, students delve into the diverse life cycles of insects, birds, whales, and flowering plants, while also investigating the environmental influences impacting these vital processes.

The Deadly Science series presents a mix of western and first nations Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics [STEM] knowledge in informative, excitingly illustrated science texts

  • Bees and their critical roles
  • Quolls, wombats, wedge-tailed eagles, emus, green tree pythons, crocodiles, frogs, sea dragons, humpback whales

It also follows the students of the Redfern Jarjum College as they investigate the complexity of the creepy crawlies in our every day lives

The Deadly Science series aims to inspire the next generation of Deadly Scientists one book at a time.

Understanding that regional and remote schools were critically underfunded, particularly in STEM resources, proud Kamilaroi educator, Corey Tutt, worked 2 jobs to purchase and send resources to some of these schools. In 2018 Corey founded DeadlyScience, a not-for-profit organisation to provide STEM resources and learning experiences to regional and remote schools in Australia and connect young Indigenous people with STEM professionals.

Since then DeadlyScience has grown to be Australia’s leading Indigenous STEM charity working with over 800 schools and community organisations across all states and territories.
