Curious about the Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus)?
The beautiful sacred kingfisher has blue-green plumage, with white underparts and collar feathers, a black mask and buff between the eye and bill.
Their long strong pointed peak allows them to feed on a wide variety of insects bugs and spiders, small crustaceans, fish, frogs, small rodents and reptiles.
Found throughout much of Australia except the dry interior, they are also present in New Zealand, Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island, New Guinea, eastern Indonesia, north and western Melanesia and the Kermadec Islands.
