Timber, hand carved and shaped Coolamon.

These Coolamon (Gulaman, Guulaman, Wirri, Guliman) have been crafted by
Wailwaan/Yuin songman and senior cultural educator Millmullian (Laurance Magick Dennis).

Used to collect and carry bush foods including seeds, grains, fruits, vegetables, small animal foods (witchetty grubs and lizards), ochre and medicines, they are exquisite to use as decorative display bowls in your home. 

The Australian Museum shop carries a number of hand carved and smoothed coolamons. Each is individual in its variations, and the small markings on the timber showing where the craftsperson has worked the timber with tools.

Each coolamon comes with a certificate of authenticity and coolamon care instructions.

Milan Dhiiyaan means “One Family or One Mob” referring to all of humanity, as one family on mother earth. Milan Dhiiyaan provides Aboriginal cultural immersion experiences for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of our Australian and global community.

Size: each coolamon is unique and hand carved from a fallen tree or branch. Sizes range from : 480x150x130mm, to 530x220x100mm. Each is 1900g approx
