Framed Fossil Fish Pharedous sp

An exquisitely framed, perfectly preserved fossilised fish of the Pharedous sp

A rare example of a uniquely detailed, Eocene era, fossilised Pharedous fish specimen.

Martin Rosser, collector and geologist who has sourced this remarkable piece for the Australian Museum remarked:

"I've only seen 2 such specimens in the past 50 years of collecting, and never one with such an attitude"

This specimen dates from Eocene Epoch, making it approximately 50 million years old

Meticulously extracted from the renowned Green River Valley Formation in Wyoming, USA, this remarkably detailed specimen captures a moment frozen in prehistory

Mounted within a gilt frame, it would be a captivating centrepiece for any collection, elegantly complementing the intricate details of this beautiful specimen.
