$1,299.99

A beautifully rich cluster of Maireener shells strung into a pendant-length necklace. The perfect gift for anyone who loves nature, exquisite handmade jewellery and significant, unique pieces.

The maireener (mariner) shells used in this exquisite necklace are collected along the Tasmanian coastline. Sea snail shells, factors such as the loss of suitable sea beds for harvesting and increase in water temperatures have affected their numbers. Each shell is selected and prepared according to strict cultural protocols, ensuring respect for both Country and culture.

Jeanette’s practice reflects a deep commitment to cultural continuity, with every piece she creates representing living Palawa knowledge, patience and care. This necklace features a a tight collection of maireener shells, highlighting their natural beauty and significance without contrast or embellishment.
