Curious about the Ankylosaurus?
Ankylosaurus was a heavily armored dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 66 to 67 million years ago.
It inhabited what is now North America and was part of a group of dinosaurs called ankylosaurids.
Ankylosaurus had a wide, flattened body covered in thick, bony plates that acted as a natural shield from predators. It also had a club-like tail that it could use to defend itself.
Ankylosaurus was a herbivore, feeding on low-growing plants like ferns and cycads. Its powerful jaws were lined with rows of small, leaf-shaped teeth that helped it grind up tough vegetation.
