Gould foldable tote bag
The Birds of Australia Foldable Tote Bag
This foldable tote bag is made from recycled PET fabric and features detailed artwork inspired by John and Elizabeth Gould’s 19th-century illustrations of Australian birdlife. Lightweight and compact, its spacious and durable design is perfect for everyday use and conveniently folds into a neat small zip pouch.
Created exclusively for the Australian Museum’s The Birds of Australia exhibition, which celebrates the Goulds’ pioneering work documenting over 600 native bird species, many new to science at the time.
Their journey across colonial New South Wales, guided by First Nations knowledge, helped shape Australia’s ornithological record.
A practical and environmentally conscious souvenir, this tote combines historical art with modern sustainability, making it ideal for museum visitors, bird enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.
