What is Siapo?
Siapo is the traditional decorated barkcloth art of Samoa, created using natural fibres and hand-applied patterns. Traditional siapo designs often feature symbolic geometric motifs inspired by nature, genealogy, community and Pacific Island cultural storytelling. These timeless patterns remain an important expression of Samoan identity, artistry and cultural heritage.
