This 10mm thick slice of Seraphenite is a beautiful example of why it was given its name. As a member of the chlorite group, this green clinochlore showcases feathery, lustrous inclusions that resemble angel wings. Its name is derived from the Seraphim angels mentioned in biblical texts.
Seraphenite is a rare, dark green mineral found in eastern Siberia in Russia, from where this specimen was excavated. With a polished face, fascinating striations and a dramatic cleft, this significant piece that would be an exquisite addition to any mineral collection
