Siapo Frangipani Trinket Dish | Handmade Pacific Island Ceramic Homeware

$70.00

This handmade ceramic trinket dish beautifully combines traditional Samoan siapo-inspired design with the tropical elegance of the frangipani flower. Crafted by a Samoan artist Amanda Stowers, the dish features a soft cream ceramic background with a dual colour siapo frangipani motif carefully marked into the surface, creating a warm and distinctive piece of authentic Pacific Island homeware.

Blending traditional Polynesian pattern work with floral symbolism, this trinket dish is both functional and decorative. Ideal for holding jewellery, rings, coins or treasured keepsakes, it brings meaningful Pacific artistry and Island style into contemporary Australian homes.

Each dish is individually handmade, ensuring subtle variations in colour, glaze and pattern that make every piece unique.

What is Siapo?

Siapo is the traditional decorated barkcloth art of Samoa, created using natural fibres and hand-applied motifs. Traditional siapo patterns often symbolise nature, family, ancestry and Pacific Island cultural storytelling. Contemporary Samoan artists continue to honour these traditions through ceramics, textiles and handmade art forms inspired by ancestral design practices.
