Bilum Clutch | Traditional PNG Handwoven Style
Bilum clutch purses. Handwoven in traditional style by weaving women of the Highlands of Papua New Guinea
Crafted from colourful recycled yarn using time-honoured techniques passed down through generations, each one-off Bilum tells the unique story of the creativity, cultural identity and heritage of the weaver.
Traditionally, Bilum bags were used to carry everything from babies or produce and a myriad of other daily necessities. Today, these smaller clutch styles bring that same versatility into a modern fashion accessory, while celebrating the deep cultural roots behind the craft.
Each Bilum is lined with undyed cotton canvas and features and internal pocket
