The exhibition breathes new life into the Goulds’ iconic illustrations through STORYBOX, an interactive storytelling cube and highlights the vital contributions of First Nations knowledge and storytelling in understanding our native birdlife.
Each coaster features artwork from the Goulds’ groundbreaking work, which documented over 600 bird species, many new to science at the time. Their journey across colonial New South Wales, guided by First Nations expertise, laid the foundation for Australia’s ornithological heritage.
