This hand-crafted grass, wool and raffia 'Camel' sculpture is made by artist Justine Anderson Kamula, a member of the Tjanpi Desert Weavers, This extraordinary collective is made up of over 400 Aboriginal women artists from 26 remote communities across the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) lands.

Made from raffia, wool and native grasses known as tjanpi in the Pitjantjatjara language, each piece is a unique expression of culture, creativity, and connection to Country. Originally inspired by the making of traditional manguri rings, these fibre sculptures represent a living art form that blends ancient practice with contemporary vision.

This sculpture is a unique gift, special souvenir, or meaningful keepsake. They are a vibrant celebration of life and spirit woven by hand with strong cultural roots and deep artistic feeling.
