Marra Mamba tiger eye is a rare variety found only in the Hamersley Ranges of the Pilbara in Western Australia. Widely regarded as the finest tiger eye in the world, only a handful of deposits have yielded it. This polished slice shimmers with gold and green and a hint of red, its silky bands shifting as the light moves across them.
This slice measures 120 x 102 mm, about 5 mm thick, and weighs 185 grams. One face carries a mirror polish, revealing a seam of tiger eye threaded with streaks of magnetite and set against unusual black jasper, with no chips, cracks or faults.
